    Plain English

    What is a prayer?

A written devotion left on a King's altar, for him and for everyone to read, unless the sub who wrote it keeps it between the two of them.

    What it is

A prayer is a devotion written to one King. It is not a message and it is not a comment. It is a few lines about what he is to you, left where he will find them.

It costs something to send, a little of the worship you earned, and that is the point. Words are cheap until they are not.

He may answer it with a blessing. He may not answer at all. Either way it stays on his altar with your name beside it, for as long as the two of you leave it there.

    Where it comes from

Most of this scene's words are borrowed from church. Worship, devotion, kneeling and the altar already meant putting yourself beneath something bigger than you, which is exactly the feeling being reached for.

Online, the prayer is the public reply. A sub answers his King's post where everybody can see it and says what he would say on his knees, and being seen to say it is half of what he gets out of it.

    In their words

    Blessed

What a prayer is once he has answered it. A blessing can be one line or no words at all, and the sub who got it will bring it up for weeks.

“Did he read your prayer?” “He blessed it. Four words.”

    How people do it

None of this is a rule anyone enforces. It is how men who pray to a King tend to go about it.

    • Make it a habit

A prayer said once is a note. Said every morning, it becomes the first thing in his day that belongs to his King.

    • Say it where it can be seen

The public part is the part that costs. Anyone can adore a man in private.

    • Write to him, not about him

A prayer is addressed to one man. The ones that land read like they could only have been written to him.

    • Leave him the last word

Asking whether he read it is not a prayer. The waiting is part of it, and so is the silence when there is no answer.

    How it works on fStable

A sub writes up to 500 characters to a King and offers worship with it, ten at the least, and all of it goes onto the King's total. The prayer lands on the altar on his profile, which anyone can read, unless the sub ticks it private, and then only the two of them ever see it.

The King is told the moment it arrives. He can bless it, with a line of his own if he wants one, and the sub is told when he does. He can also take any prayer off his altar and put it back later. The sub can delete his own prayer whenever he likes, though the worship he offered stays given.

    Is it safe?

A public prayer can be read by anyone, including somebody who knows you. Keep names, towns and jobs out of it, yours and everyone else's, or keep it private and only he will read it.

A prayer is always one you chose to send. It costs worship you earned and never money, and you can take your words down whenever you want. What nobody can take back is a screenshot somebody already made.
