What is the contract?
A collar on fStable is a written contract with the King's rules on it, and it means nothing until the sub has signed it.
What it is
The contract is the collar, written down. A King sets out the rules he wants a man to live by, and the man puts his name under them. Until he does, nothing has happened, however many times either of them has said it.
The one who submits is the one who signs. That is the whole idea — he is not taken, he gives himself, and there is a page with his name and the date on it to prove he did.
Whatever his King wrote for him alone stays between the two of them, but the fact of it does not. Anyone can see whose he is, and since when.
Where it comes from
Putting it on paper is older than the word for wanting it. In December 1869 the writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch signed a contract making himself Fanny Pistor's slave for six months, and the word masochism was later made out of his name. The contract had an end date, and once it was up both of them were to carry on as though it had never happened.
The collar has stages of its own in the scene, and they have names. There is a collar of consideration while a man is being looked at, a training collar while he is broken in, and a formal collar at the end, which some couples mark with a ceremony the way other people mark a wedding.
Online, most of that shrank to a line in a bio. “Property of @someone” is the oldest signal there is and the flimsiest — anybody can type it, nobody can check it, and it disappears the day the account does.
In their words
Collared
What a man is once he has signed. Not a follower and not a fan with a crush on somebody — a man with an owner, a date, and the paperwork for both.
“Is he your owner, or is that just your bio?” “Signed on the 3rd. Go and look.”
How people do it
None of this is a rule anyone enforces. It is what men who take a collar seriously have done for a long time.
Talk before anything is written
Limits come first and rules second. A contract nobody negotiated is one man's wish list with another man's name at the bottom.
Start on a trial
Plenty of dynamics begin with a collar of consideration or a training collar, and the real one is earned later. Being made to wait for it is part of it.
Write the way out in
Every decent contract says how to stop it, how to refuse one order and how to leave. That is not the soft part of the paper. It is what makes the rest of it safe to sign.
Give it an end date
It might be six months, a year, or a date to sit down and read it again. Most written contracts carry a term, so that staying is something both men keep choosing.
Mark the day
Some make a ceremony of it. Some post the date and nothing else. Either way, the date is the first thing he will tell you.
How it works on fStable
Every contract here opens with four house rules that no King can take out, followed by his own stable rules, which anyone can read on his profile before asking. A King offering his collar can add a line of terms for that one man, and give him a new name that becomes his display name the moment he signs.
It starts one of two ways — a sub asks a King to consider him, or a King offers his collar to a Fan he wants — and it ends on the same page, with the sub typing “I submit to” and his King's name. Nobody can sign it for him. A man belongs to one King at a time, and handing him to another takes his signature again.
Once it is signed it is sealed. His profile shows who owns him and since when, his King's name sits next to his own on every post he makes, and he gets a dated, numbered certificate to keep or to post. The King decides how far the collar goes, from under consideration to owned outright, and the man is told every time it moves.
Is it safe?
The contract binds you inside fStable and nowhere else. It is not a debt and not a legal document, and nobody can hold you to it off this site, whatever it says.
Leaving is written into it. Ask him to let you go whenever you like — asking is part of the scene, and he can say yes. If he says no or goes quiet, you can close it yourself once forty-eight hours have passed since you signed, with one line to him on the way out. Nothing is forfeited, his open orders end with the collar, and the name he gave you goes back to the one you came with.
Your limits stay yours. The only other person who can read them is the King whose collar you are wearing, and he sees your hard limits every time he writes you an order. If something goes too far, the button that says so sits under the contract itself, and it goes to us, not to him.
