Plain English
What is the wall of shame?
A public list of a sub's failures that only exists if he switched it on himself.
What it is
A wall of shame is a public list of a sub's failures, posted by his King. It might be an order he failed, a roll call he missed or a denial he broke.
It works the way public shame works. Being seen is the punishment, and knowing that strangers can read it is what makes it sting.
It is also the one thing here that never happens by default. There is no wall at all until the man it is about switches it on.
Where it comes from
Shaming a man in public is an old punishment. The pillory held his head and hands in the square while the town jeered at him, and England did not abolish it until 1837.
The scene kept the idea and dropped the cruelty. Being exposed is at the heart of a lot of men's kinks, and the version that works is one they can take back, which is exactly the part the internet is worst at.
In their words
On the wall
Where a sub ends up when he fails his King and has agreed to answer for it in public. Short, dated, and there for anyone to read until one of them takes it down.
“Why are you on his wall?” “Missed roll call. Twice.”
How people do it
None of this is a rule anyone enforces. It is how men who play with public shame tend to go about it.
Agree what can go up
Which failures get posted, and which never will, is settled before the first one goes up.
Shame the failure, not the man
An entry is about what he did. A good one reads like a sentence handed down, not an insult.
Start mild
The first entry should be one he could laugh about later. Men who want it harder ask for it.
How it works on fStable
The wall is off unless the sub switches it on himself, by ticking a box on his own stable page. His King never can. Once it is on, the King can post short entries about an order he failed, a roll call he missed, a denial he broke or anything else, in text only, a headline and a line of note, and the sub is told each time.
The wall is a public page under his King's name. Anyone with the link can read it, with or without an account, and the sub's username and picture sit beside every entry. It is kept out of search engines.
The sub can take down any entry himself, whenever he likes, without asking. Switching the wall off takes every entry down for good, and so does the collar coming off.
Is it safe?
It never happens without you. Nothing about you can go on a wall you have not switched on, you can switch it off in one tap, and your King cannot post to it while you are on a break.
What nobody can take back is a screenshot somebody took while an entry was up. Switch it on only for the kind of thing you could live with outliving it.
